Can I test my QR code before the event?

Print one sign at the size guests will see
Test the printed sign, not the screen. Paper, ink, and venue lighting are what actually decide whether a code scans.
Each download button has its own paper size menu, so the PDF prints correctly at home. - 2
Scan it from a second phone with the normal camera app
Hold it at arm's length in ordinary room light, the way a guest would.
Try the live demo album - 3
Upload one test photo
This confirms the whole path works, not just that the code opens a page.
The gallery as a guest sees it on their phone, with Upload Photos in the header. - 4
Delete the test photo from your gallery
Open the photo as the host and remove it. Nothing else needs undoing.
Hosts use Select to choose photos, then download them.
Common follow-up questions
- Will my test photo be visible to guests?
- It would be, so delete it once you are happy. As the host you can remove any photo from the gallery at any time.
- Do I need a second phone to test?
- It is the most realistic test, because your own phone may already have the album open. If you only have one, ask someone else to scan it, or open the code on a laptop screen and scan that.
- What if the code opens the album but the upload fails?
- That is almost always the connection rather than the code. See why a guest cannot upload, and check that uploads are switched on.
- How far ahead should I test?
- Before you print the full run of signs. Finding a problem after thirty cards are printed is the expensive version of this.
