- 1
Ask them to open it in Safari or Chrome
In-app browsers inside social apps are the single most common cause. There is usually an Open in browser option in the menu.
Guests tap Upload Photos and pick from their camera roll. There is no app and no account to create. - 2
Check the connection
Venue wifi is often saturated. Mobile data is frequently faster, or they can upload later from home.
- 3
Wait for cloud photos to download
A photo stored only in iCloud has to come down to the phone first, which looks like a stall.
- 4
Check uploads are switched on
Album settings controls whether guests can add anything at all.
Comments, Likes, and Well Wishes are switched on and off here.
Common follow-up questions
- Why does the in-app browser matter?
- Social apps use a cut-down browser that can block file uploads. Opening the same link in Safari or Chrome usually fixes it immediately.
- Is there a file size limit?
- Yes. See which file types guests can upload.
- Can they upload after the event?
- Yes, while the gallery is live. See uploading after the event.
- A guest says the upload finished but nothing appeared.
- If you have approval switched on it is waiting for you. See approving photos before guests see them.
